Awards Program

CAAR has a well-respected program to honor members who contribute to the local industry in a way that enhances professional practice and boosts the reputation for all.

Each year, the association presents awards of excellence in the following categories:

Affiliate of the Year
One affiliate company member of CAAR is recognized for helping further the goals and objectives of the association.

Good Neighbor Award
REALTORS® are known for being trusted authorities on the local housing market, but a new recognition program seeks to highlight the volunteer work they do to make Central Virginia the lovely place we know it is to live! The CAAR Good Neighbor Award will honor a REALTOR® member for significant time and interest he or she has dedicated to a local non-profit or charitable organization; the award includes a $1,000 donation to the organization for which his or her work is being recognized.

Hall of Fame
Those eligible for the Hall of Fame award are men and women, who have had at least 25 years of continuous service as a member of the CAAR, who have made significant contributions to the community and the real estate industry.

President's Award
This award is given by the President to a person or group who has shown loyalty and support in advancing the objectives of CAAR.

Professional Honor Society
CAAR members also receive awards for being part of the state and local professional honor societies. These REALTORS® earn points throughout the year in four focus areas: association involvement (attending events); professional development activities (earning certifications/designations or instructing real estate classes); leadership roles (serving on local, state or national committees or earning awards); and sales production.

REALTOR® Ethics in Action
Nominees should be REALTORS® who are sought out by other REALTORS® who are seeking advice and counsel on questions concerning the Code of Ethics and professional standards.

REALTOR® of the Year
Nominees should be REALTORS® who exhibit faithfulness to principles of organized real estate and to rules and regulations of CAAR and the NAR Code of Ethics. Nominees should also exhibit efforts to encourage good real estate practices and image among other real estate brokers and the general public.

Rising Star of the Year
Nominees should be REALTORS® who have an active salesperson's license of 18 consecutive months or less in the real estate business. The starting date will be when a nominee joined CAAR. Nominees should excel in production, education, and be involved in CAAR and the community.

Sales Associate of the Year
Nominees should be REALTORS® who distinguish themselves as top producers and still manage to be actively involved in the Association and civic affairs and continue to improve their skills by obtaining education and professional designations.
