Seniors Safe at Home Back for Third Year to Raise $50,000 to Support Critical Home Repairs for Fixed-Income Senior Neighbors
Imagine that a senior citizen you know was in jeopardy of losing his or her longtime home because of lack of funds for an emergency repair, such as a leaky roof or dilapidated entry stairs. For the third year, the local real estate community has teamed with Albemarle Housing Improvement Program and Blue Ridge Home Builders Association to prevent that from happening to our most vulnerable residents in the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County.
Currently 227 senior citizens in 186 households are on the waitlist for repairs from AHIP. The vital Seniors Safe at Home program seeks to slash those numbers and make a big improvement in our community.
We will reach the ambitious fundraising goal of $50,000 one donation at a time. The partners are deeply thankful to significant support from the following sponsors:
Champion: Wells Fargo Bank
Benefactors: Home Instead Senior Care
Pape & Company, Inc.
Supporters: Better Living, Inc.
Central Virginia Waterproofing, Inc.
Blue Ridge Termite and Pest Management
