The Homebuyer Tax Credit Will Soon be History

If you are thinking about buying your first home, or are considering moving on to your next one, call your REALTOR® and lender today. If you hurry, you can still take advantage of a housewarming present from Uncle Sam. The gift is a generous tax credit that you could use for home repairs, new furniture, reducing your debt, or to help pay some of the costs incurred when you close on your new home. For qualifying buyers, all it takes to receive the credit is a signed home purchase contract dated prior to May 1, 2010 followed by a closing which occurs prior to July 1, 2010. If you are a first-time homebuyer, that credit is a generous $8,000. For move-up buyers, the credit is still substantial at $6,500.

Lake Monticello Maintains its Sense of Community

In today’s transient world, it’s difficult to find a place that one feels rooted to; the kind of community that residents consider home and where they feel connected to their neighbors. Lake Monticello is that place.
