CAAR Young Professionals Network "All Hands In" Supply Drive Raised Over $4,000 in Back to School Supplies and Monetary Voluntary Donations for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Virginia
The Charlottesville Area Association REALTORS® (CAAR) Young Professionals Network (YPN) fundraised for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Virginia with an “All Hands In” Supply Drive in mid-August.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Virginia offer a lineup of nationally recognized programs that address today’s most pressing youth issues. With locations in Albemarle, Charlottesville, Madison and Orange, the Clubs now serve more than 2,000 kids annually.
The CAAR YPN offers young, rising real estate professionals an opportunity to be involved in the association, industry, and community.
The newly formed partnership between CAAR YPN and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Virginia developed shortly after the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) announced it would join forces with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in the beginning of the year.
To help foster the new partnership and provide assistance in the execution of the “All Hands In” Supply Drive, the CAAR YPN received a $1,000 Community Investment Grant from the Virginia Association of REALTORS® (VAR).
The “All Hands In” Supply Drive brought the Greater Charlottesville community together to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Virginia programs and activities, including “Power Hour” as well as the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) program.
“In just a few months, the Young Professionals Network at CAAR was able to conceptualize and implement a supply drive that now benefits kids at all six of our area Boys & Girls Clubs,” said James Pierce, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Virginia Executive Director. “The CAAR YPN put out the call, and the community responded with over $4,000 in much-needed supplies for our kids and donations that go straight to our after school programs. We are so grateful for this partnership, which was motivated by the good work of local realtors who care about their community. When we all work together, the kids truly benefit.”
