       o DEI Council participated in the Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) Job Fair, where they: communicated the value of the REALTOR® ; promoted the REALTOR® profession
as a career choice; and shared how REALTOR® are involved in the community

       o DEI Council is working on hosting three virtual DEI sessions and two in-person DEI sessions - more information will be released when available

       o DEI Council and the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) Realtist Chapter of Richmond (RCR) have signed a sponsorship trade agreement.

       o DEI Council and the Women's Council of REALTORS® Blue Ridge have signed a sponsorship trade agreement.

       o DEI Council presented "How Redlining and Racial Segregation Continues to Shape Today's Housing Market" with local author Jordy Yager on Wed., July 27th. Watch the recording of the session.

       o DEI Council presented "Raised/Razed Watch Party & Panel Discussion" on Wed., Nov. 30th. Panelists included Jordy Yager, Lorenzo Dickerson, Waki Wynn, and Tom Woolfolk. Watch the recording of the session.

       o DEI Council presents "Farm Fresh Broadband: The Politics of Rural Connectivity" with Christopher Ali, PhD on Thurs. Dec. 15th. Watch the recording of the session.

       o  DEI Council launched a new resource for the membership to use - a DEI library! Next time you are at the CAAR office or Hillsdale Conference Center, please browse a variety of DEI publications and check out a book for up to three weeks. Don't forget to also take a custom DEI bookmark with helpful QR codes.

  •        o CAAR received a $1,000 National Association of REALTORS Diversity Grant to send Vice-Chair Anna Antigua to the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) Homeownership & Wealth Building Conference

           o DEI Council hosted a LGBTQ+ overview with speaker Jason Elliott as part of the March General Membership Meeting. Watch the recording of the session.

           o DEI Council hosted a LGBTQ+ training class with Jason Elliott in March. Watch the recording of the session.

           o DEI Council participated in the Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) Job Fair, where they: communicated the value of the REALTOR® ; promoted the REALTOR® profession as a career choice; and shared how REALTOR® are involved in the community.

           o DEI Council received a $3,000 NAR Housing Opportunity Grant to support a National Association of Real Estate Brokers Realtist Chapter of Richmond Community Wealth Building Day in April.

           o DEI Council hosted a disability inclusion and awareness overview with speakers Joe Jamison and Cory Paradis of VisitAble LLC as part of the May General Membership Meeting. Watch the recording of the session. In addition, VisitAble is offering members the opportunity to earn 1 Related continuing education credit now through May 2024 in a self-guided, online training.

           o DEI Master Group hosted a Fair Housing: Long Island Divided class with instructor Bill Dedman in October. This class was brought to members with a $5,000 NAR Diversity Grant and a $2,500 VAR Diversity Grant. Watch the recording of the session.

           o DEI Master Group hosted Credit Inequity & Housing Access by Housing Opportunities Made Equal of VA (HOME of VA) in December. Watch the recording of the session. DEI Master Group provided a $1,000 donation as a thank you for presenting.

           o DEI Master Group encouraged CAAR to sign the Stop Hate in Real Estate pledge in December.
